ABOUT ME

Author, speaker and mindset & wellbeing coach/burnout expert

“With the right mindset anything is possible!”

I am a childhood survivor of domestic violence who rose above my beginnings to go to university, gain a good Honours Degree, qualify as a journalist and then work as a Communications Manager for over two decades in organisations such as the British Red Cross, the Children’s Society and Ogilvy Public Relations in London, Text 100 in India and the Ministry of Social Development in New Zealand.

My journey

Biracial and multilingual I used my “anything is possible” outlook when working in the 1990s on a global campaign to ban landmines which won the Nobel Peace Prize, had involvement from Princess Diana and for which I was one of the spokespeople appearing on national and international television, radio and press.

Then a major life event happened in 2000.

I experienced severe burnout in my early 30s, was bedridden for months and my physical and mental health suffered.

After recovering I went on to re-train as a holistic health practitioner and coach while raising two children as a single parent.

I use my passion for empowering others and my vast lived experience to support my clients to prevent or recover from burnout, to discover their passion and to live a fulfilled life aligned with that.

Currently I am moving to a new phase in my professional life to offer wellbeing services to children, young people and women who are recovering from domestic abuse.

I am an experienced business consultant advising businesses on the business value of empathy and how to incorporate this into their organisations.

Also a highly sought after speaker I am honoured to be a member of The Speakers Collective.

In 2017 I could only speak before 20 people due to a fear of public speaking.

In 2023 I had the amazing experience of speaking live before 20,000 villagers at an Indian ashram about the power of peaceful activism as exemplified by Gandhi and how our common humanity overrides caste, gender, colour and race.

It all starts by learning how to focus on what you want.

  • Reflect

Next, you’ll reflect on what may be blocking you, and learn how to overcome these obstacles.

  • Refine

The last step? We learn how to continually refine what we’ve learned. Think of this as your new beginning.
